RIVER THAMES SCHEME CHANNEL ONE SCRAPPED - JULY 2020

“The CIPFA Report on finance and governance is unbelievably shocking - and compounded by the inability and/or unwillingness of RBWM to make financial arrangements for the RTS . While RBWM carry on as they are without provision for partnership funding I cannot see how Channel 1 of the River Thames Scheme can progress. Channels 2 and 3 will be built in Surrey. Having just survived another close-call in early 2021 - Datchet, Horton, Wraysbury and Old Windsor will remain at serious risk of flooding for the forseeable future. While the authorities continue to be economical with the truth and rely on a perpetual and persistent orchestrated narrative to avoid difficult questions - householders of properties in flood risk areas become fodder for the insurance companies.
