THE trial of the former leader of Essex County Council and
Conservative peer Lord Hanningfield has been postponed.
He
stands accused of six counts of making dishonest claims for allowances at
the House of Lords.
The trial of the Tory, also known as Paul White, was due to
begin at
Director of Public Prosecutions Keir Starmer and Metropolitan Police commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson set up a team to consider political expenses cases in May last year.
