Kingsmead Quarry - The Kingsmead stink!
I sent the following e-mail to the RBWM Environmental Health Department
20 March 2011 21:32
Subject: Liquid waste tankers
Gillian
Maybe you could pass this on to the appropriate department please………..
You might like to know that there are a large number of articulated liquid carrying tankers coming through Datchet – from the M4 Junction 5 via Ditton Road and Horton Road to the redundant Kingsmead gravel pit in Welley Road, Horton - and then back again.
Some mornings there are two or three just waiting for the gates to open at the pit.
I do not know whether they are bringing in or taking away liquid waste, or whether they have permission, but I will ask the question at our Parish Council Meeting this evening!
Thanks
Ewan Larcombe
At the end of May 2011, I was asked to investigate the source of a nauseating smell being carried downwind from the direction of Kingsmead Quarry.
Having discovered a slurry pit on the quarry site, little did I know what lay ahead.
I started by asking questions...........
