Dates set for six Parliamentary expenses fraud trials

Dates have been set for the trials of three former MPs, one current MP and two peers accused of fraud over their parliamentary expenses.

Elliot Morley is scheduled to go on trial on 22 November, followed by David Chaytor on 6 December and Lord Hanningfield on 13 December.

The trial of MP Eric Illsley is set to begin on 10 January, Lord Taylor on 17 January and Jim Devine on 2 February.

All deny charges of false accounting and maintain their innocence.

The dates were fixed by Justice Saunders at a hearing at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.

The trials will take place at Southwark Crown Court in London.
