Algae in the Jubilee River
- August 2010 and algae is still a problem after seven years!
The Environment Agency is responsible for the Jubilee River. At a cost of £110m the Jubilee River is sub-standard in design and construction.
The design/construction of the Jubilee River encourages the growth and accumulation of algae.
There are not even any warning signs (as 2009) and how the EA can claim that the algae is not a safety hazard is beyond me?
Please see Algal mat warning sign - July 2009
I believe that algae in the Jubilee River is an ongoing and unresolved Health & Safety issue.
On 12 August I complained to Ian Tomes about the algae in the Jubilee River at Slough Weir.
