The Jubilee River has been affected by algae since it was constructed (2002) and the Environment Agency has failed to resolve the problem.

The Environment Agency produced a warning sign that states:

   'These pose no risk to human health or the environment'

(Also since April 2008 the Environment Agency no longer has Crown Immunity from prosecution.)
