Response to the Morpeth Group’s proposal - The Way Forward for Flood Insurance in the UK

Re: Flood  Insurance Document

 

On behalf of the Morpeth Flood Insurance Group, thank you for taking the time and trouble to consider the Morpeth Flood Insurance Document, a way to hopefully attain a fair insurance system for everyone and especially ensure that those communities at risk from flooding are not penalised with enormous excesses or indeed, are unable to obtain insurance against this type of disaster. If you have already forwarded comments to the National Flood Forum in respect of the Document, thank you again; if you have not done this yet, we would be happy to receive the same, ideally by 19th August 2010, directly to the Town Council Offices or via the National Flood Forum.

 

Here in Morpeth, we intend to host a Conference on Saturday 2nd October 2010 in the Town Hall, when the draft Document, together with the feedback, will be debated and a common position hopefully agreed. I would be very grateful if you will advise whether you or other representatives from your group will be attending the Conference. There will be a small charge for attendance, to be advised later, and an information pack will be issued shortly to all groups who express this interest.

It would be appreciated if you will reply directly to Morpeth Town Council Offices at the address shown below to indicate your preference.
