EA FLOOD WARNING SYSTEM

The following are anomalies that occurred, that we are aware of, during the increase in water levels on the River Thames in February 2009:

EA website showed Old Windsor as Flood Watch on one page and All Clear on another.

EA website showed Datchet to Shepperton as Flood Watch and underneath Wraysbury as All Clear.

At the time Datchet had been put on Flood Warning.

Wraysbury and Old Windsor were not put on Flood Warning at all when, in our opinion, as Flood Wardens they should have been as floodwater had flooded many gardens and roads and was up to the houses in some instances.

       Telephone warning system totally inadequate.

Out of 5 people asked only 1 received correct Flood Watch Warning.

       2 received nothing at all.

       1 received half a message.

1 received no message at all when the EA rang.

Some people in Wraysbury received a Flood Warning for Iver and Fulmer for the River Colne when they live on the River Thames.

We have been sent Floodline Warning forms to complete which are incorrect.

The old Floodline Warning forms are inadequate.
