A COMMUNITY advice and support meeting held by the Morpeth Flood Action Group on Monday was well attended.

Presentations were made by Alan Ure, who specialises in flood resistant products, John Davies, an insurance claims consultant, and Paul Hendy from the National Flood Forum.

Mr Davies gave advice on insurance claims and the role of the loss adjuster in the renovation process. He is prepared to advise anyone whose home was hit by the flood on an individual basis. His services are free and he can be contacted on 07786 955935.

Mr Hendy gave an overview of larger flood barrier systems and a manufacturer of these systems will be making a presentation at a future meeting.

Mr Ure demonstrated flood protection door barriers, Smart Airbricks and back flow valves and said he will probably be attending the next meeting on Monday, November 17 at Morpeth County First School in Goosehill from 7pm.

At the meeting, there will be presentations and question and answer sessions with a building inspector, planning officer, estate wardens and other workers from Castle Morpeth Council.
