Letter from Paul in Hull

  • The London-based Environment Agency sums up what's wrong with this country. Unelected, arrogant, remote and totally useless. In what other country could such a body say it was going to write off £100m of arable land, not compensate householders or farmers and then think that it has any credibility? Just what the hell are we paying these people for? Try telling London to do without the flood barrier. If London is worth protecting then so is Yorkshire. We've been the soft touch up here for too long!
