a watercolour by Sydney Foley

 

We will be supporting the effort to persuade the EA to change their views in respect of disposal of the lockkeepers cottages.

 However, in the meantime, we wondered if the following would be of interest.

 

We were at the Lincoln Joyce Fine Art Gallery in 40 Church Road, Great Bookham yesterday and they had just acquired a watercolour of Penton Hook Lockkeeper’s Cottage by Sydney Foley from his widow. He was a member of the Wapping Group of Artists and lived in Laleham.

 

It is a very fine watercolour and the gallery owner anticipates that when framed it will cost in the region of £500.
