Yet again the developers win (on appeal) the right to develop on flood plain (please see below)

Six detached bungalows and an old post office near Staines will be replaced by 32 retirement flats raised 1.5m above ground level as a precaution against flooding.

In my opinion, the developers are both increasing the numbers of people at risk of flooding, and also exposing a particularly vulnerable section of society to those same risks.  Building the flats 1.5m above the ground surely adds significant further risks for older people (steps/ramps leading to falls and broken bones) irrespective of flooding.

And of course when (not if) the place floods, the developers will be both prompt and efficient with their kind help and support to the flood victims.

I don't think so!!
