YORKSHIRE WATER BLAMED IN DAMNING FLOODS REPORT

08:00 - 21 November 2007

A damning report today blamed Yorkshire Water for failing to prevent mass flooding in Hull.

More than 8,600 homes and almost 100 schools were flooded because of heavy rainfall in the city on June 25.

But today's final report by the Independent Review Body (IRB), commissioned to examine the causes of the flooding, says Yorkshire Water consistently ignored warnings about faults in its drainage network in Hull.
