29/7/07 - e-mail - received from somebody in Wraysbury about Environment Agency bonuses

I am sure most of you heard that Baroness Young rec'd a bonus of £24k on top of her £163k salary for meeting targets. (I can only think that if you make the targets easy enough they can be met).

But the Sunday Times article also says that Board minutes show the top execs privately expressed strong concerns last Sept. about the country's preparedness for serious floods. (Didn't stop them from taking the money though)

The old saying honour among thieves is obviously out of date !

Editors note: the word 'outrageous' comes to mind!
