An unexpected response from my Borough Councillor!
This is an e-mail I sent to to my Borough Councillor.
Jesse
Please could you explain RBWM Council’s rationale in defeating the motion detailed below which was submitted by Councillor Malcolm Beer on Tuesday 24th February?
This Council notes the ongoing problems with Ordinary Water Course and River Thames management and demands that regular Councillor and community liaison with the Environment Agency is restored via the Thames Flood Forum, and that the support of other Councils and the local MPs be sought to address these matters.
I have a Datchet Parish Council Meeting on Monday, and it would be useful to have an answer, because this motion was raised and supported at our last meeting on 16th February. (By the way - this was yet another meeting that you failed either to attend or to supply a report in your absence.)
Unfortunately it never even crossed my mind that you would consider voting against the motion.
I do not understand how Datchet Parish Council supports this proposal, while you are against!
You claim to represent Datchet – so how about some action to support that claim!
I will just mention that I have asked repeatedly about the TFF for over six months now, but then if you do not attend the meetings……….
I think attending only one meeting per quarter is insufficient.
Maybe see you on Monday?
Thanks
Ewan
